Short Biography
Hi, my name is Kiran Samra and I am from the U.K. where I have lived all my life. I have been a published journalist for most of my career and wrote a regular column in my local comunity newspaper until I was laid off about 18 months ago.
Ever since then I have been writing online for clients. Not long after I took to the internet to find writing opportunities, I stumbled across Andy's website and read through his ‘Fat Content' course. It didn't take me long to realise that writing for the internet is an art in and of itself and started to use Web Content Studio to help me craft ‘super articles' for my clients.
By using Web Content Studio I have found that I am able to write about almost any subject matter as the software actually helps/forces you to use words that are important to the topic you are trying to write about. I find that narrowing down my concentration this way helps me to write articles faster and of much better quality.
With the recent ‘Panda' updates and Google's obsession with ultra quality content (rightly so in my opinion by the way), it's more important than ever to have excellent quality, LSI ‘super articles' on your sites and this is why I applied to be listed on this site as a qualified Web Content Studio writer and to offer my services to you all.
Rates are as follows: $5 per 100 words (500 – 999 word articles) and $4 per 100 (1000+ word articles).

Understanding the Benefits of Outsourcing
As a business owner, should you be considering using an outsourcing service? Well you might be surprised to know that we should definitely consider employing outsourced workers to help complete the mundane and monotonous tasks that take up a lot of our time. Despite what the media says, there is nothing wrong with the recruitment of virtual staff. In fact, there are actually many benefits of outsourcing.
Here are a couple of practical examples. Since my back yard is not large enough to grow vegetables, I outsource my seeds to the nearest farmer, who grows them for me using his land and expertise.
With my household chores, I outsource them to a maid. I find them too time consuming so by hiring a maid, I save a lot of ‘wasted' time.
With that being said, what do I do with the rest of my time? Well I am a freelance writer, so by freeing up my time I end up having more time to write. In fact, this is my main source of income and as such this is the main thing that I need to focus on daily. You should apply this logic to your own business. If you do not have enough resources to handle a task on your own, you need to outsource it to someone else. By outsourcing, you will save yourself both time and money in the long run. Instead of having to do everything yourself, you can get someone else to do the work for you remotely. At some point, every business must go through this stage if they want to get to the next level and become a success.
Offshore Outsourcing
In today’s uncertain economic climate, offshore outsourcing and the low costs associated with it can be the difference between a business staying alive or going under. It can be thought of as a safety valve for preventing other more serious problems. Not only is it a way to cut costs, it is also a ‘secret' tactic that many small to medium sized business owners utilize to better handle higher growth. Outsourcing to an employee in India is a great solution if you are in need of a virtual assistant. There is a great deal of talent there and as English is a widely taught and spoken language, communication is not really considered an issue. This is probably why 40 percent of all outsourced projects go to a virtual employee in India. The work an employee in India can provide is cheap, but they make very good virtual staff as they are capable of producing excellent results.
When Should You Think About Outsourcing?
How does a person know that outsourcing a particular job to a virtual employee is the best solution for their business? And even if a person does not need outsourcing right now, how do they know if they should use it in the future? You should consider using an outsourcing service if your situation matches one or more of the following scenarios:-
-
If your business deals with web developers, graphic design, programming, typing or even legal matters, then you should defiantly consider hiring a virtual employee. If you do otherwise and hire local employees, you will more than likely see a decrease in your bottom line. If you outsource your work to a virtual assistant, you take care of these needs without spending too much money. The best way to do this is to outsource to countries where the currency is worth less than your native currency. India and the Philippines are a popular choice so when deciding where to source virtual assistants for your business, bear these in mind. Therefore when you need to reduce costs, offshore outsourcing should be a consideration.
-
If you are a website owner, you will no doubt be aware that producing quality unique content in the form of articles or videos is a must. However, a lot of people are intimidated by this. They either consider themselves not competent enough to produce such content or, quite simply, they are too lazy to do so. Either way, a solution to this problem would be to use an outsourcing service for the content creation, as long as they can afford to do so. This way they free themselves up to concentrate on other parts of their business.
-
You may even be forced into outsourcing a particular task if you cannot find any local employees skilled enough to do a particular type of job. For example, you might need an smart phone app to be designed for your business but are unable to find anyone in your local area who has the programming skills to be able to do so. Outsourcing the design, development and delivery of your new app would be like child's play. Since so many jobs of this type have been shipped off to India, you could find and hire an employee in Indian to do it for you. With them having a low cost of living, they are able to work at a lower price per month without sacrificing their lifestyle.
-
Other online entrepreneurs can take advantage of this new outsourcing trend. Virtual staff can take care of work such as graphic design, internet marketing, seo specialist tasks and other similar jobs. This can be done via the internet at one of the many online freelancing sites available today. A virtual employee in India would readily take advantage of your job offer. This is because they are given a chance to work from their home office without having to worry about such things as commuter traffic or child daycare costs (assuming they have children of course). Also, on your end, you would not have to worry about benefits like health insurance or Social Security. Since the virtual employee would be hired as independent contractors, those types of things would be optional.
-
Hiring outsourced professionals can also help reduce your stress levels. This is especially true for entrepreneurs that are already running a business. Even if a person has employees, the stress level might keep them from performing at their maximum capacity. An outsourced professional could be hired to relieve some of that stress by completing the mundane workload that needs to be done on a daily basis.
-
You might also want to consider offshore outsourcing if a particular task is continuously draining your resources. For example, if you find yourself having to constantly perform search engine optimization (S.E.O.) tasks for your website, but neither you nor your employees know how to do so to a high level, hiring an outsourced seo specialist would help to solve the problem. The experts that you can find offshore who are capable of performing these types of technical tasks in places such as India, Philippines or even Eastern Europe, will only charge a fraction of what professionals charge in Western countries. And again, since their currency is not worth as much, they can handle the cheaper cost.
-
You can also use an outsourcing service to expand your current needs. With this approach, you do not have to give up the local employees you already have. You also do not have to hire anyone new. You can simply hire freelancers to cover your extended needs. Outsourcing a virtual employee also works if you need to go on vacation. Your business can be taken care of with no further concerns on your part.
-
Outsourced personnel can also be used to transform your existing processes. However, if you do things this way, it is recommended that you only do it for a temporary amount of time to begin with. If you find that the virtual staff are able to keep certain operations running smoothly, then you can keep your outsourced personnel otherwise you can change things back to the way they were quite quickly.
-
Virtual staff can also be used if a project is not being completed on time in-house. Perhaps a staff member is sick, or someone is just not doing their job well enough, outsourced personnel can help resolve these types of issues.
Manage your outsourced workers successfully
The key to successfully outsourcing certain parts of your business is communication and clarity. It goes without saying that you should only consider outsource workers that can demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with you. The fact that offshore outsourcing means employing workers who are located in different countries makes this apparent. One great way to tackle this obstacle is to use services such as Skype, which will allow you and your virtual staff to stay in touch verbally AND visually, which is very important.
Another very important aspect to get right is to always have things put in writing such as the tasks, job descriptions and duties you expect your outsourced workers to carry out in return for payment. Getting them to sign these documents is a wise thing to do also, so in the unlikely event of any disputes, these documents can be used to clear things up.
If you are not completely satisfied with how an outsourced job comes out, you can retrain the virtual staff or find and hire more competent personnel instead. You can also negotiate a cheaper cost. If an outsourced professional does not do their job correctly, they should not really get paid the full amount they charge.
Conversely, if you get quality work, you should always look to pay your virtual assistant or freelancer a little more, maybe an unexpected bonus. By doing this, you establish trust with them which is definitely the name of the game when it comes to achieving success with your outsourcing service. If the freelancer trusts you, they will want to stick with you over the long haul. They would be more likely to put you above their other clients simply because you treated them well. Sadly, too many do the exact opposite, which is why they experience problems when trying to outsource their work.
Summary
As for any criticism regarding your decision to outsource, let me tell you that you have nothing to feel guilty about. While the perception amongst the general public is that outsourcing virtual staff takes away some of the jobs in your own country, you should know that this view point is somewhat short sighted. A great advantage to outsourcing certain processes of your business is that it helps you to reduce costs. This reduction in costs will be reflected in the price of your products or services and so will allow you to charge less money for them. By charging less, you increase your bottom line, a move that can help your business grow and expand resulting in you being able to hire local employees from your own country in the future. So in fact, recruiting outsourced personnel can actually be a very good thing depending on how you use it.
